Test: Sending from my cool iPhone

Finishing up a long bike ride. Love this girl.

Please pray for Stellan, he is heading to Boston for surgery.

Okay so how cool is this?  I can post on my blog sort of like twitter/text messaging and with photos.

Maybe you will get post over the weekend after all.... maybe?

Maybe this can be a REALLY BAD thing..... or good?  Maybe?

I'll be back next week.

Baby girl had such a fun busy day yesterday on her birthday.  She took naps, she ran errands with mommy.  She helped pick out her birthday cake for her party on Friday.  She went to the post office with me to mail out our taxes (yes she is our TAX BABY) and she also helped me to send out all of her pretty dresses, sneakers and pokemon to our GIVEAWAY winners.  So be a look out for those packages over the next few days.  She also got a balloon.... and then broke it, letting all of the air out if it.  Every place we went we had someone new to join in to sing happy birthday to her.  She really enjoyed that, and it also put smiles on others through out their busy day.   See I told you there isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't make us smile or laugh.

Well tomorrow my parents and Marks parents fly in for the weekend.  We are having a birthday bash Friday night and we have fun stuff planned for the weekend, so I am going to be pretty busy starting today.  I won't be posting for a few days, so I wanted to leave you guys with some adorable pictures of butterfly and a little devotional.  Something that I think can start the middle of the week off great and take you into the weekend.  Enjoy and see Ill be back next week.

God Bless.

"Jesus said to his followers, 'Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone'" (Mark 16:15 NCV).

People with "me-first" faith ask, "How can God make my life more comfortable?" They want to use God for their purposes instead of being used for His purposes.

"God-first" believers know they've been saved to serve and made for mission. They're eager to receive a personal assignment and excited about the privilege of being used by God.

Their joy, confidence, and enthusiasm are contagious because they know they're making a difference. They wake up each morning expecting God to work through them in fresh ways.

Which type of believer do you want to be?

God invites you to participate in the greatest, largest, most diverse, and most significant cause in history—building his kingdom. History is His story; He's building His family for eternity. Nothing matters more and nothing will last as long.

From the book of Revelation we know God's global mission will be accomplished, that someday the Great Commission will be the great completion. In heaven, an enormous crowd of people "from every race, tribe, nation, and language" will one day stand before Jesus Christ to worship Him (Revelation 7:9 CEV).

Becoming a "God-first" believer will allow you to experience in advance a little of what heaven will be like.

12 Butterfly Kisses

Photobucket

Dear Morgan Paige ~

Tell me it isn't so.

Can it really be?

Where has the time gone, Butterfly?

Little precious girl where do I even start?

I have so much I want to say, but as I sit here trying to type this letter/post to you, my thoughts seems to be everywhere.  Part of me wants to start from the beginning and post a picture for every month of this past year. Looking back on each little growth, step and accomplishment you have made.  Maybe I will do that for the family photo album instead and keep this letter to YOU, and not a post about you, for everyone else to read.

Morgan, this letter is to you.

I want to tell you about all the joys you have brought to my life as a mother for the last 12 months.  Hang on, as I better grab the tissue box because the eyes are already starting to fill with tears.  I don't know why, but mom has been so emotional over the last few months.  I feel that I have become so soft and sensitive to everything and can cry at the smallest of things.  Although, that may be true, I have become a big softy since becoming a first time mom 8 years ago to your big brother, but the reason I am such a softy tonight as I write this letter, isn't small at all.

In truth baby girl, my eyes only fill up with the love and joy that my heart overflows with and can't contain.  The love that continues to grow inside me every single day, and often 100 times a day.  I have fallen to madly and deeply in love with you that when I stop and think about it, it really does take my breath away.

You my Butterfly, you have made our family whole. There isn't a day..... not one single day little girl, that you don't either make us smile or have us cracking up in belly laughs.  They say laughter keeps you young, and I have to say that if that were the case I would be an infant again, because baby girl you bring that much sunshine and joy into my life, your daddy's life and your brothers life.  We love you so, so, so much.  You are truly daddy's little girl, sent here from heaven, and you have captured all of our hearts with your smile, laughter and beauty.

Today is your birthday.

On April 14, 2008, 8:04 AM, YOU,  little Morgan Paige, changed our family for the better forever.

Looking back and seeing how big you are today baby girl, AMAZES me.  You have accomplished so many milestones.  You are saying words like mama, dada, bubba, ba-bab (bottle), genta (gentle when petty kitties), hi, bye-bye (while either waving your hand or clamping in open and closed), and recently you are trying to say 'choo-choo', because you like the song on the Disney channel "Choo Choo Soul".

It goes like this...

All aboard the choo-choo train
All aboard the choo-choo train......

All aboard the choo-choo train
All aboard the choo-choo train......

All aboard the choo-choo train...

All aboard. All aboard.

CHOO!  CHOO!!

Speaking of songs.

Butterfly, I have to admit, I have never seen a baby with as much 'real' rhythm as you.  Yes, almost all babies tend to have a little rhythm, where they can bounce or rock to in a little rhythm or pattern.  However, YOU, little girl... you got some "ChooChoo Soul" in you.  You love music, and when it comes on you row your belly, sway your head and move your shoulders in real motion and true dancing rhythm. Its really one of my favorite things about you right now.  I can't wait to see you dancing around the house doing routines, and or you and I even taking some fun dance class at the gym.  Between my love for dancing and your daddy's love for music.... your options are many and your future is bright.

Another one of my favorite things about you is your hair.  The color of it, the little curls flipping up in the back and the smell of it after your baths.  Boy, do you love your baths!

You no longer drink bottles, another than the one before nap and bedtime.  Mom went cold turkey on you April 1st, but you haven't once complained about it.  You are doing great with sippy-cups and love it when I let you drink from a straw.  You are such a big girl. You are getting much, much better with eating foods with chunks in it.  Like mommy, you have a hypersensitive gag reflex, and for the longest time anything having the slightest little texture or chunk in it, you would gag.  When I say gag, I don't mean like a little gag and then its' done with.  I mean the very dramatic gagging kind of gag, to where it normally ends up in massive puking explosions.  Or the kind of gagging to make ones heart drop, frightened because I think you are seriously choking and I yank you up from your seat ready to turn you upside down and pound your back.  A few of those can take me from that belly laugh infant age, to a senior citizen in a matter of seconds.  My worst fear is that one time its going to be a real choking situation, and I just hope that my practice over the last 12 months pays off.

You love, love, love your brown teddy bear, and that is one I almost forgot.  You try to say 'teddy', and it comes out more like 'te-te' and its one of the cutest things in the world.  The way you kiss, snuggle up to and carry around Mr. Teddy, is just too precious for words.  You also love to lay your head on Milo and feel his soft fur against your face.  You have learned quickly the word gentle and you pet him just so.

Recently, you have figured out how to take your bows out of your hair and so now its getting almost impossible to keep them in your hair.  After your baths at night you like taking the brush and trying to brush your hair.  You really understand, and you really do try to brush your hair.  In fact you DO brush your hair, the only difference is that you brush your hair in a different direction as mommy does, but I can see many days in the future in which we will disagree as to which way your hair should go. This is only the beginning. (laughing)

Baby girl, I can't forget to mention how sweet you are.  You love to give kisses, and everyone that meets you or knows you, says you are just the happiest baby.  That you really are.  You are like the dream child. You are easy, funny, sweet and just an easy child.  We say that you are either making up for the hard pregnancy you put mommy through, or your are the calm before the storm.  Meaning preparing us for the teen years.  LOL.  Just kidding baby girl.... with all joking aside, you are truly are an angel child.

You sleep great.  Your teething has been a breeze for the most part and you have been so healthy.  A little cold or fever here and there..but Ill take that any day compared to what it could have been.

As I start to wrap this letter up, I have to stop for a minute and take a deep breath in.  While saying a prayer and being thankful, that I have the honor and blessing to write this letter to my little girl.  I think of sweet Cora Paige, and so many other little ones that are no longer with us, and other mom and dads with severely broken hearts from the loss of a child.  I am thankful for your life, your love, your health and thankful to God for blessing me with my little girl.  My Butterfly!

I constantly remind myself that you are not in my life, but that I am simply in YOUR life.  You are God's gift to me.  He favored me with you, to be your advocate for HIM. I am honored to be a part of HIS plans for YOU.  I am honored to be called your MOTHER.  I am honored to be given the trust and the ability to raise you up to honor GOD. I am THANKFUL.

Before I go, I have to mention just how much your daddy and brother love you.  You are one special and lucky girl let me tell you.  To have such good looking men in your life that practically worship the little ground you crawl on.  You have stolen the hearts of both your daddy and brother.  They adore you.  They cherish you.  They glow when looking at you.  Its the best just to watch you with them.  My life here on earth feels whole when you, your daddy, Hunter and kitties are all together as a family at the same time.  I feel completely and totally relaxed when I am surrounded by all of you and have everyone sleeping under the same roof.

Oh by the way, speaking of crawling.  You still mainly get around by crawling, but you are furniture cruising more and more. Over the last week you have bravely attempted to take  a step on your own hands free.  You get the biggest and most exciting expression on your face, so proud, as you should be, each time you try to take that step.  You are so close to walking baby girl, and part of me is so excited for that moment and accomplishment, but then at the same time I am in no rush.  Part of me feels that the crawling stuff still keeps you a baby, and not yet a toddler.  I am not ready for you to grow up that fast.

Today is your BIRTHDAY.

Thursday all your grandparents are coming to town for the weekend.  We are going to have a little party for you then, go bowling and see your brother play a double header this weekend.  Its going to be so fun.  I can't wait for granny, papa, Papa-Mark and Nana-Jan, see how much you have grown, how tall you are, all the teeth you have and the head full of hair you have grown as well.

You are one loved little butterfly.

For each month of this past year baby girl.... You give butterfly kisses.

Happy First Birthday Butterfly!

He came!

Oh how I love Easter weekend.  I love the meaning of Easter.  I love the way we celebrate Easter.  I love how adorable the kids all look in their little Easter outfits.  I love all the spring colors and all the baby animals that come out around Easter/Spring time.

Over the years sometimes Easter would be a hard holiday for me.  Especially as a single mom and when it would be the holiday rotation that was not my year with Hunter.  On the years that I didn't have Hunter,  I would hang by myself or with friends during the  holidays. I wouldn't go home to visit family because it didn't feel right to fly home to see family without my son.  It was also hard to be around all the other children, when Hunter was not with me.  It made me miss him so much.  It is still like that now when I do not have a holiday with Hunter.  This past year I didn't have him for Thanksgiving and now this past weekend for Easter. I miss not getting to be the Easter bunny or sometimes getting to be Santa or tooth-fairy.

However, it does seem to be getting easier for me a little more each year, to enjoy the holidays even when Hunter isn't spending that holiday with me.  I think it has a lot to do with the fact that Hunter is older now, and I can talk to him, email him and stay in constant communication with him.  As before it wouldn't be like that. I would be lucky to even hear his voice on the phone at all.  It also helps that I have Morgan to focus on and to keep me busy, so I am not so stuck on the fact that my son isn't with me.  It also helps that I know how much fun Hunter is having on his holiday away from me.  Knowing he is smiling, laughing and enjoying himself... that makes me feel good inside.

Even more so these days.... it helps that his dad and I actually do get along now.  That alone can take off so much stress and heartache in all of this.  It would be the hardest thing to do on holidays, letting my child go with the one person that I at one point couldn't stand the most. It was awful.  But things have changed, we have grown and we now get along and truly parent Hunter as a team, the best way we know how.

In fact this Easter holiday, and the first time that I know of since knowing Hunter's father 11 years now.  This was the first Easter in which we actually BOTH got to spend time with Hunter together. Although, Hunter having a baseball game Saturday helped, that isn't what I am referring to.  What I am referring to is the fact that I invited Hunter's father to join us in an Easter service at church Sunday morning.

And he came

The first time that I know of him attending a church in all 11 years that I have known him...and he came.

It was such a beautiful sight to see.  I was thrilled. Hunter was thrilled and not only did I get to spend part of Easter day with my son,  MY SON, got to spend part of HIS Easter day with both of his parents, his sister and step-dad.... HIS FAMILY at CHURCH, hearing the word of God and the true meaning of all this Easter celebration.  Hunter sat there between me and his dad, holding both of our hands, while I held Hunter and Marks hand.  For those that have known me for years now, know just how far both his dad and I have come, and understand why this is such a big deal to be sharing here with you today. Amen.?

We wanted Hunters to dad to have such a great experience for his first time visit.  We reserved seats at the front of the church and once we were in there, we handed it over to God.  God knew that he would be there this weekend, and so he knew all the words that David (pastor and dear friend) would speak this day.  And boy did he ever! The band was fabulous as always.  The message was right on and it turned out to be an amazing time.  Hunter's dad said he really liked it and was glad he came.  Yea!!!!

Go GOD!!!

I don't recall ever posting a picture of Hunter's dad on my blog before, but today I feel it only to be right to share this part of Hunter's life.

** Remember to click on collage images to zoom **

This weekend, I experienced one of the cutest and well done Easter gatherings ever.  We were invited to attend a neighboring Easter party.  When I got there, I quickly learned that this wasn't just your ordinary Easter lunch/party.  This was your TV/FILM style of Easter gatherings for friends and families.

You know, those scenes on TV/FILMS where the house is huge, with the beautiful Easter decorations, tons of kids dressed in their adorable Easter outfits, an Easter bunny walking around for picture taking opportunities.

It seriously looked like a set up right out of the Pottery Barn catalog.  They had a beautiful home on the water.  Food catering.  They had a photographer walking around capturing all the activities.  They had this tent set up with tons of child size tables and chairs set up, so that the kids could decorate their own Easter eggs.  They had a bounce house.  A petting zoo full of baby chicks, rabbits, kittens, puppies, pigs, lambs, ducks and goats. It was absolutely wonderful.  I really wished Hunter could have been there to see it all.

Morgan was a bit over stimulated. I don't think she smiled the entire time. In fact she had her 'very serious' face on the entire time, while trying to understand and take in all that was around her. She explored the petting zoo, holding her first bunny.  She loved kissing the baby chick. In fact it was so cute, that when she lean in to kiss the baby chick, she wouldn't just kiss them, she would turn her head left and right several times so the fur of the baby chick would tickle her mouth. It was so funny.  Morgan had her first taste of a cherry snow cone and didn't get scared or cry once while hanging out with the Easter bunny.  I am telling you folks it was one of those kind of set ups.  It was amazing.

They placed out over 3000 eggs for the kids to hunt.  Morgan enjoyed picking up and opening all her Easter eggs.  She wanted to know if what was inside of the egg was worth putting in her basket.  LOL.  She loved watching all the bigger kids run around.  She was so cute in her little Easter dress crawling around or standing up against something.  It was one of those types of events and parties that can inspire anyone to want to do the same one day.  It does for me anyways.

To end our wonderful Easter weekend.

After church Sunday, we went home to let Morgan take her nap.  While she was napping, Mark and I decided to watch "Passion Of The Christ" before heading over to some friends for an Easter dinner gathering.

Photobucket

It felt so right watching "Passion Of The Christ" on Easter day.  I have watched it before, but it just seemed new to me all over again.  I had tears in my eyes while thinking back and understanding that this is what MY JESUS went through for my sins.  I am so undeserving of any of that, but because of His love for me, it was possible and I now have been forgiven and have the key to eternal life.

Can you tell through my words that I truly enjoyed my Easter weekend????

I hope that you and yours did also.

God Bless.

Gods Easter ~~

by Rick Warren
Today's Devotional is based on this passage:

"That's what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others' sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all—was put to death and then made alive—to bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18 MSG).
Everything that Jesus did for you He did out of love. The Bible says that God made you to love you. The only reason you're alive is because you were made to be loved by God.

If God didn't want you alive, your heart would stop instantly; you wouldn't even be breathing right now. God made you and wants you alive so He can love you and so you can love Him back.

God didn't just say He loved you, He showed it. The Bible says, "God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8 NLT). It says while we were still sinners. Before I even knew God, before I even knew I needed God in my life, Jesus died for me.

There's a myth that says I've got to clean up my act before I can come to God. "I've got to get it all together. There are a few things I've got to get right in my life first, and then I'll come to God." No! You come to God with your problems—the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Why do we do this? It's like when we brush our teeth before we go to the dentist to have a teeth cleaning; or when we wash the dishes before we put them in the dishwasher; or when we pick up the house before the maid gets there! Why do we do this?

God says, "No, no! You don't have to clean up your act. Just bring it all to Me. Bring Me all your problems. I have the answer. I have all the answers." You don't wait. Jesus says, "Come as you are."

The Bible says, "He will send down help from heaven to save me because of His love" (Psalm 57:3 LB). That's what Jesus did on Easter. He sent down Himself from heaven to save us because of His love. So you bring your problems to God because He has the answer.

If you don't act on this news then the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection is wasted for you personally. It makes no difference in your life. You may recognize the gift, but you still have to receive it.

The Bible says, "You will be saved, if you honestly say, 'Jesus is Lord,' and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death. God will accept you and save you, if you truly believe this and tell it to others" (Romans 10:9-10 CEV).

God is not asking you to make a promise you cannot keep. God is asking you to believe a promise that only He can keep.

Today's Devotional is based on this passage:

"But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked Him, "Are you the Christ,
the Son of the Blessed One?" (Mark 14:61 NIV)

What's so important about Easter? It's important because it proved that Jesus was who He claimed to be. He was God in the flesh, and He came to earth to save us.

Three events occurred in dramatic succession on that Easter weekend: the trial of Jesus, then the death of Jesus, and finally the resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus actually went through six trials. In that one night, he was brought before Annas (the father-in-law of Caiaphas), Caiaphas (the high priest), the Sanhedrin (the religious Supreme Court), Pilate (the governor of Jerusalem), Herod (the governor of Galilee), and then back to Pilate.

At the end of those six trials, what did they find to accuse Him of? Nothing. He had done nothing wrong. They brought in people to make up phony charges, but those didn't stick. Finally they convicted him on one count: claiming to be the Son of God. That's the sole reason Jesus went to the cross.

Everyone who has ever been presented with Jesus has already made some kind of decision about who He is. You either believe He's a liar, or you believe He's a lunatic, or you believe He's the Lord. It can't just be "I believe He was a good teacher." He couldn't be just a good teacher, because a good teacher would not say, "I'm God, and I'm the only way to heaven." A good person would not say that unless it was the truth.

Jesus claimed to be the Savior of the world. In John 12:47, He is recorded as saying: "I did not come to judge the world, but to save it" (NIV). He allowed Himself to be put on trial so there would be no doubt about who He was. He could have stopped the trial at any moment; he knew He would be proven guilty and put on the cross—but He allowed it to happen. It was all part of the plan.

Today's Devotional is based on this passage:

"That's what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others' sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all—was put to death and then made alive—to bring us to God" (1 Peter 3:18 MSG).

Easter celebrates an event that proved Jesus was who He claimed to be. He was God in the flesh, and He came to earth to save us. And that meant He had to die for us.

After a night of beatings and mocking, after being crowned with painful thorns, Jesus was crucified. Crucifixion is probably the most brutal and torturous death penalty ever devised by men. His hands were stretched out wide against the cross and nailed through the two bones in each wrist. As the nails went through this part of the flesh, they would strike the nerve that travels up the arm and cause excruciating pain.

If you hang this way for any period of time, the muscles around your chest cavity become paralyzed. You can breathe in but you can't breathe out. Death on a cross is really a simple matter of suffocation, except the Romans didn't want to make it that easy. They'd take a person's knees and bend them a little bit and nail the feet to the cross.

So a man would hang there in absolute agony until the pain in his chest was about to explode, and then he would lift himself up on his nailed feet to grab a breath. When the pain in his feet grew unbearable, he'd let himself back down again until the pain in his lungs became unbearable. It was an incredibly torturous event.

Eventually, the soldiers would break the legs of the criminal to hasten death by suffocation.

In the case of Jesus, they didn't have to break His legs, because He had already died. But just to make sure, they stuck a spear in His side. Water and blood came out of the chest cavity, which, doctors say, only happens if the heart rips. You can call it what you want, but Jesus died of a broken heart.

Why did Jesus have to die? Because He alone was able to pay for your sins. You deserved punishment, but Jesus paid the penalty for you: "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1 Peter 3:18 NIV).
