This is my first time trying to do this Linky Blog Hop thing, so let's see if I can get it right on my first try, so that I do not have to spend much time (that I don't have today) on this post. HA!
1. I used to go by the last name Dennie in school. All my friends I grew up with know me as Misty Dennie. When I graduated I got two diploma's, just in case, one said Misty Dennie, and the other said Misty Rice. How many you know got two diploma's when they graduated?
It's my step dads name, and when I moved to Cedar Creek lake in the 4th grade, I had cousins out there and so I wanted to have the same last name as my family at my school. My maiden name is Rice, and now my legal married name is Rice-Baniewicz.
2. I am considering going back to school to become a PICU nurse. I want to be more medically hands on with children at the hospital. I'm scared and intimated by the thought of school and commitment, but I wanted to do this since I was in middle school. In fact I 'shadowed' a pediatric doctor on career day at school. Right now I am just praying, and seeking God's plan in all of this. Trying to figure out what God's plan for me is in this crazy world down here.
3. I can't sing, but wish I could. And because of that, I have never sang karaoke alone.
Did you already know any of this, or does any of it surprise you? Now let me know three (that's 3) things about you.
And just because its a blogging sin to post without pictures....... here are some more pictures from our 4th of July day. Morgan will make Loui Vitton proud. And never mind my really bad hairdo in the family shot. I just came off the jet skis for crying out loud.
7 Personal Thoughts:
Misty, you are so a girl after my own heart! I also want to be a nurse. In fact, that's what I started going to school for but got scared and frustrated and switched majors to Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. I sort of see not finishing nursing as a mistake, but I hate the word mistake, b/c I think we learn from everything and I tend to be way too hard on myself.
I thought I was going to be able to begin an associates degree nursing program in the fall, but had my transcripts evaluated and turns out I have more to think than I thought. Some stuff didn't transfer or expired (stupid time limit) from my bachelors. I need to sign up to take some of this stuff at night at tech this fall. Science, yuck!
But I too love children and want so badly to be a nurse. When I was little I loved the movie Steel Magnolias b/c Julia Robert's character Shelby is a neonatal nurse in the moive.
You should look into starting in fall too! You would be the prettiest nurse ever!
Fun Post! I remember you as Misty Dennie too. I wasn't sure where the Rice came from.
I say go for it on the nursing. Maybe start out small and become a LVN and then finish your RN when the kids (or Morgan) is in school. I have told you before that this has always been my dream career and it feels so good to know that I am heading in that direction.
I shadowed a pediatrician too on career day. I think he was in Kaufman. Wasn't that 7th grade in Mabank? Mrs. Sapp?
Blog Hopping to say Hello! I love your blog, as always. Thanks for sharing.
that was fun getting to know a bit more about you - I requested your "friendship" on facebook so look for me there... also loved the pictures and your hair totally does not look bad!! your too hard on yourself!

Great family photos. Love Morgan's LV purse. Start 'em young, I tell you!
The three thinks you shared are great. I didn't know you had a "third last name". I can't really sing either. But I think I can after a few drinks. I think going back to school is a wonderful idea - no matter what you want to do. I'm a "lifelong learner" too! I refuse to stop!
Go for it!
Looking forward to seeing you! Jen
Hey!
What a beautiful family you have. Congrats to your son and his baptism. I bet you were one proud mama!
