My Parona

Yeap, she is teething..... can't you tell?

  • Increased fussiness; night-time crying and "clingy" behavior.
  • Excessive drooling.
  • Red cheeks. (she woke up Monday with bright red cheeks)
  • Chewing on fingers, teething rings, and other objects. (bear didn't stand a a chance)
  • Swollen, red (or bluish-purple), inflamed gums.
  • Increased demand in nursing or bottle-feeding.
  • Rejection of breast or bottle because sucking hurts gums.
  • Poor appetite.
  • Slight fever.
  • Runny nose.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Interrupted sleep.
Are there symptoms?
Some babies just breeze right through the process, while others cry, drool, get red cheeks, and just generally have a rotten time of it. The symptoms of teething can include red cheeks, excessive drooling, general fussiness and irritability, runny nose, and sometimes diarrhea. It should be noted that the discharge from the nose should be clear, and that while baby may be warmer than usual, she should not have a fever (temp. of 101 or higher). A fever or nasal discharge that isn’t clear are signs of illness not teething and should be treated by a doctor.

Bless her little heart- those cheeks are so RED it looks painful to me! - one suggestion is to buy those mesh bags with the handle (made my Munchkin) and put some ice in it. She might like to suck on that and the cold feels good.

Good Luck- we're working on our top teeth now! :)

She is such a little puff, I can't get over it! What a chubba wubba. Charlie was like that too and when she started crawling and cruising she really leaned out. I guess the teething doesn't stop for a while. Charlie's molars are trying to come out and poor thing is biting me and everything in sight. I heard that freesing a basic cotton cloth and tying it in a knot works too. They're cheap too and you can wash them so they don't build bacteria.
