Father - Daughter Dance

Im back from Chicago as of last night.  It was a great time. I have lots of fun things to share and catch up on, including the birth of my BFF's delivery, that I got to watch, photograph and even cut the cord for this morning.  He is BEAUTIFUL just to let you know.  I am in the process of downloading images, but need to make space on the little MAC laptop I use here, because I don't use the other 3 computers in my house for whatever reason.

Well, I went to the Father-Daughter dance I had mentioned I would be photographing for this small private school.  Here is a sneak peak....

As I mentioned I have never done this before. I am very inexperienced and not really great at the indoor/night stuff just yet. I do not have any fancy flashes to go on my camera to help me out so I had to go with what I had.

Anyways, I enjoyed it, the school is pleased and I survived.  I wanted to share a few of the many photos I got that night.  Now I can delete them off my computer.  *smiling*

My date, Charlie!

I just loved watching all the girls run around in their beautiful dresses. Getting their nails polished and faces painted.  Running around giggling, dancing and blowing bubbles.  Then to shift gears and be so sweetly in their daddy's arms for some sweet slow dancing.  I had a moment where I caught myself off in the future with tears about to form in my eyes, thinking a short few years ahead when Mark will be dancing with Morgan like this.  Awe!!!!

I think the pics from the father/daughter dance are priceless. I'm sure everyone is going to enjoy them - and the lighting looks good to me, but what do I know.
Hope you had a great trip in the windy city!

Amazing pics Misty! You do an amazing job at it.. Keep it up...

As I looked at the ones with the daddy's dancing with their daughters all I could think of was my father who passed away when I was 14. I never got to dance with my daddy. On my wedding day I cried so much because I wanted my daddy there. Till this day knowing that one day the Lord will bless us with a bundle of joy I would love for my daddy to be here as well. I know he is in spirit :)
(Sorry I had to share this)

<3 your sister in Christ,
Melanie

I think they turned out great. I love the one of the little girl dancing with her dad, pushing on his face with her fingers. So cute! The one of the little girl bending down in the gold dress is adorable too. Congrats on your first indoor session! Did you use your flash? The lighting is good. It isn't too harsh at all. I get to shoot my first wedding next month. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. It is an outside wedding and my aunt so I think I will be ok.

Never mind the fact that I want to jump into the Lisa boat and have another baby......that picture of David and Victoria made me cry. Real tears, crying.....so sweet!! You did a great job.

I can NOT wait to see the pics from this morning. It's all I can do to not hop on a plane and go see little Zane. I guess the fact that Scot is out of the country and me leaving my kids would be frowned upon is reason enough to wait!
