Happy Birthday, Honey ~

So as I type this it is 11:57 PM.  Let's see if I can finish this and be done and on my way to bed by midnight.

As all is sleeping in the house, but mama.  I went out to hubby's car to place some goodies in and around the drivers seat. Wanting to give him a surprise and make him smile, now isn't that a way to start his birthday day?

To help him see how loved he is.... he got a card from his 3 biggest fans.

To one little girl, her daddy is her world.

If not playing video or board games, or butting heads...  one little boy secretly calls him friend.

For one lucky girl, with her heart all a glow.... can't stop thanking God for all her gifts he bestows.

We are a family of 4 plus 2, yes... can't for get the furry ones too.

Although not perfect...... we come pretty close (not!).

We just want to take a moment in this post, with riddles or not....

To say Happy Birthday to Mark...... WE love you with all our hearts!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!!!!

Plus he got...

1. Two "manly" DVD's
2. Two CD's Queens and The Who
3. A one hour deep-tissue massage certificate

It's late.... Ill try to post pictures of some kind later of hubby on his birthday!

Urgent Prayers needed RIGHT NOW!!!!

5:00 PM Update - Click HERE!

(Stellan)

I feel as though I can't type this fast enough. I read this on MckMama's blog this morning on my way out the door to my sons Field Day event.  I just got home only to read the update that its getting VERY, VERY serious and SCARY to say the least.  We ALL know MckMama's blog, and we all know the MIRACLE story of baby Stellan.

Ill give you as much detail as I can here as quick as possible, and you can head over to MckMama's blog for the rest.  However, most importantly we ask that you stop whatever you are doing and say a prayer for this little boy.

A boy that is already a miracle. A boy that wasn't supposed to live to make it to his birth.  A boy that left the hospital 'healed' and healthy.  He has been sick and was taken to the ER yesterday night, when after a second dose of the nebulizer for his breathing and wheezing.  His heart went into SVT (Supra Ventricular Tachycardia=very high heart rate)super fast heart rate = not good. They ended sending him to the Children's Hospital by ambulance from that hospital because they were unsuccessful getting his heart rate down and or his IV in.

Still, as of today, they have been unsuccessful to get his heart rate down.  This is BAD!  No one especially babies can go that long with such fast heart rate.  They have sedated him as of this time, they continue to try different options and drugs to stabilize him and to slow his body down, in hopes to get his heart rate down.  No success right now.  They even have tried giving him a drug that makes his heart STOP beating for a brief second or so, so that when it starts back up, they hoped it would start to beat regularly.  Still no success.

This is a very serious and scary situation. They have no answers right now, and relying all on the peace of God.  He has healed Stellan in a BIG way once, so they know that HE has Stellan in his hands and in HIS plans.

As parents, you can imagine how frightening this is.  To trust HIM with big faith, but at the same time NOT KNOW what that PLAN may be for your very own child.

I have become friends with MckMama (Jennifer) and we often communicate via email.  I am so proud of her for how she is handling this.  She isn't sure if it is the state of shock, being exhausted or what, but she likes to believe that its God that is allowing her to have so much peace in this.  That's awesome and beautiful!!!

Please spread the word, stop and say a prayer.  This little boys heart beat has been STV for a long as is, and if they can't get it to come down.... my mind can't even begin to imagine what that means.  JUST PRAY!!!

Thank you.

Not Me, Monday!

It is not me that is trying to gain weight so that I can start working out and building muscle in this skinny body of mine.  I in no way ate a toasted peanut-butter and jelly sandwich, with cheddar and sour cream ruffle chips, and a huge class of whole milk for ENTIRE week last week.

I would never think to admit or post something as ridiculous as that, along with posting actual pictures of such foods to be eaten for breakfast. I mean who in the world (especially female) would think to eat a PB&J sandwich for breakfast?  A freak?

I would also never think to post or admit something like this, because I know that it would be very difficult for other women out there to still accept me as a friend.  Right? So I would never admit something like.... so no matter what anyone tries to tell you.  It's not my sandwich in these pictures.  Not me!!

Okay.....okay....

So what, you got me.  That is my hand in that picture. I was "hand-modeling" for a client.  You believe me right?

And not one of you ..... I mean it.... better send me hate comments or mail.  Calling me skinny is like calling a fat girl fat.  I hate it! I struggle with my weight as ALL women do, but I just struggle with it a different way than most.  So where is my support here?  :)

My new LITTLE friend..

My new portable external hard drive that my honey got for me.

Its really small, but BIG things can come in SMALL sizes.
This bad boy girl holds 500 GB

I'm using the FireWire on my MAC laptop, so it doesn't take up my
USB slots, allowing me to not have to remove my wireless mouse
when I go to use my HD.
I was amazed at all the colors you can choose from.
Although, I wish I got the pink one.
I was not able to find for the MAC, in the 500 GB, that I wanted in pink, so
I got the silver and black instead!

For now the soft bag will work for me.
 However, since I travel a lot, I will most likely
invest in a hard case in the future. Maybe Ill get the pink case?
The case is less that $20.00! Not bad!

AND....

AND...

I have already backed up ALL my photos and iTune music.  Yea, me!!!

Allowing myself to free up A LOT of space on my laptop. While giving me the peace of mind that my photos are safe to never be 'accidentally' deleted or lost again!!!!

And may I add just a little side note?

It is SO easy folks to do this.  I make folders for each group of photos so to keep them organized.
Example:

I make a "Hunter Folder" ...
in the "Hunter Folder" I then make additional folders for each group of photos such as:
Baseball 2009
Chicago Hockey Tournament Feb. 2009
St. Patricks Day 2009

I am kicking myself in the butt for not doing this a long time ago, as my honey had often tried to tell me to do. I highly recommend for you to get yourself one. Especially for mommies that like to take tons of pictures of their beautiful offspring.  They have them for MAC and PC users. Choice of different GB sizes... all the way up to a 1TB (I think stands for One TrillaBite).

Now that's a LOT of storage space people. I got the 500 GB size, which hubby assures me, for now, that's plenty of space.

Thanks honey, for making me back up my stuff so you don't have to deal with me crying over lost photos of our precious offspring.

 I love you.

Do you use your abilities?

God Smiles When We Use Our Abilities
by Rick Warren

In our Devotionals series, Pastor Rick Warren discusses the Bible passages that inspire him the most. Today's Devotional is based on this passage:

"He has shaped each person in turn; now he watches everything we do" (Psalm 33:15 MSG).
After the flood, God gave Noah these simple instructions: "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything" (Genesis 9:1,3 NIV).

God said, "It's time to get on with your life! Do the things I designed humans to do. Make love to your spouse. Have babies. Raise families. Plant crops and eat meals. This is what I made you to be!"

You may feel that the only time God is pleased with you is when you're doing "spiritual" activities like reading the Bible, attending church, praying, or sharing your faith, and that he is unconcerned about the other parts of your life. Actually, God enjoys watching everything you do, whether you are working, playing, resting, or eating. The Bible tells us, "The steps of the godly are directed by the LORD. He delights in every detail of their lives" (Psalm 37:23 NLT).

God especially enjoys watching you use the talents and abilities he has given you. God intentionally gifted each of us differently for his enjoyment. You may be gifted at mechanics or mathematics or music or a thousand other skills. All of these activities can bring a smile to God's face.

You don't bring glory or pleasure to God by hiding your abilities or by trying to be someone else. You only bring him enjoyment by being you. Anytime you reject any part of yourself, you are rejecting God's wisdom and sovereignty in creating you. God says, "You have no right to argue with your Creator. You are merely a clay pot shaped by a potter. The clay doesn't ask, 'Why did you make me this way?'" (Isaiah 45:9 CEV).

In the film Chariots of Fire, Olympic runner Eric Liddell says, "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast, and when I run, I feel God's pleasure." Later he says, "To give up running would be to hold him in contempt." There are no unspiritual abilities, just misused ones. Start using yours for God's pleasure.

God also gains pleasure in watching you enjoy his creation. He gave you eyes to enjoy beauty, ears to enjoy sounds and music, your nose and taste buds to enjoy smells and tastes, and the nerves under your skin to enjoy touch. Every act of enjoyment becomes an act of worship when you thank God for it. In fact, the Bible says, "God generously gives us everything for our enjoyment" (1 Timothy 6:17 TEV).

God even enjoys watching you sleep! When my children were small, I remember the deep satisfaction of watching them sleep. They looked contented, secure, and peaceful, and I was reminded of how much I loved them. When you are sleeping, God gazes at you with love, because you were his idea.

Parents do not require their children to be perfect, or even mature, in order to enjoy them. They enjoy them at every stage of development. In the same way, God doesn't wait for you to reach maturity before he starts liking you. He loves and enjoys you at every stage of your spiritual development.

You may have had unpleasable teachers or parents as you were growing up. Please don't assume God feels that way about you. He knows you are incapable of being perfect or sinless (1 John 1:8).

What God looks at is the attitude of your heart: Is pleasing him your deepest desire? This was Paul's life goal: "More than anything else, however, we want to please him..." (2 Corinthians 5:9 TEV).

When you live in light of eternity, your focus changes from "How much pleasure am I getting out of life?" to "How much pleasure is God getting out of my life?"

God is looking for people like Noah in the 21st century—people willing to live for the pleasure of God. The Bible says, "The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who are wise, who want to please God” (Psalm 14:2 LB).

Will you make pleasing God the goal of your life? There is nothing that God won't do for the person totally absorbed with this goal.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do you use your abilities?  I'd like to hear them? I think this would be a different way to get to better know someone that those 50 Q&A post.  Ill start:
I use my abilities of compassion to help others.  I have a love for children and would do anything for them. Babies love me, and almost instinctively know they like me and or feel safe with me.  It is amazing and I love it.  People often feel safe to open up to me, and they should, because I would never betray anyone like that.  I have even had a few blogger friends, friends that have never met me, open up to me about deep personal issues in their lives. Wanting to either just share with me and or seek out my advice.  I have also shared personal things with a blogger friend that I have never met. Something about her, made me feel it was okay and that I was 'safe'. I like for people to feel safe with me.
I am trying to use my photography as an ability.  An ability to help people capture special moments in their lives, like weddings, births and their children's beautiful faces. God has gifted me in so many areas, its really hard to pick one and stick with it. I am one of those that is a Jack of many trades, but master at none. Although, some take that out of context to mock someone that isn't doing much with their lives.  I think this can be a wonderful thing, but often frustrating and confusing.  I feel I have my hands in so much, but that I am not a MASTER on one.
I think I am learning that I may be a master of being a servant to my kids and husband.  I am getting really good at being a servant to others.  Giving up my time, my heart and my energy to invest in those that need me.
I also have a gift of speaking in away to folks so that they understand.  Some people have a hard time communicating their thoughts or feelings, and I can do this with no hesitation. I am open, honest and direct.
God has given me the gift of being super competitive and athletic.  My son is often proud to show his friends what an athlete his mom is.  He says to them, "my mom can hit and throw awesome .... for a girl."  And he says it not in that way like ....yea, um for A GIRL...but he says it in that way, like, man for a girl, my mom can really hit and throw.  Make sense?
I love being MORE like God and getting to better understand the heart of God, through my children.
So how are YOU using your God given abilities? I want to know.
